Apple Cider Beef Stew

This is another recipe that has been on my 'to try' list for a while and finally the weather is getting cool enough to enjoy stews/soups/chowders! :)

I thought this recipe turned out delicious and so easy with it being a slow cooker recipe.

2 lbs. beef stew meat

2 pkgs. of dry brown gravy mix

1/8 t. cinnamon

1 can beef broth

1 1/4 cups apple cider

1 (8oz.) can tomato sauce

1 bay leaf

2 stalks celery (diced)

about 1 lb. potato's (cut into chunks)

4 carrots (cut into chunks)

1 can sliced water chestnuts (drained)
1 lb. fresh mushrooms sliced

Mix all ingredients together in slow cooker. Cook on low for 7 hours.

Then mix together;

3 T. cornstarch

1/3 cup cold water

Pour cornstarch mixture into beef stew. Turn slow cooker on high and cook for 15 minutes or until thickened.
